Congratulations to the winners of the 2024 Heinz Mittelmeier Awards!

This year we had the pleasure to recognize two groups of honorees. Robert Nißler’s team evaluated the use of NIR-fluorescence in imaging that could improve ceramic fracture removal surgery. Meanwhile, a retrieval study conducted by Joachim Döring’s team analyzed wear-related damage to 43 BIOLOX®delta CoC and CoP components used in hard and soft bearings.

The awards were presented at DKOU 2024 in Berlin this past week. Among those in attendance were the DGOOC, DGU officials, and CeramTec Medical’s own Dr. Henrich Mannel, VP of R&D and Marketing (pictured above).

It was wonderful to gather in celebration of our award winners, who have taken up the mantle of Heinz Mittelmeier in their work. We look forward to supporting many more dedicated, talented scientific teams in their research around TJA and the ceramic materials it demands.
